Tomb Raider I

Many years ago, the great continent of Atlantis was ruled harmoniously by Qualopec, Tihocan and Natla. Each ruler possessed a third of a powerful device known as the ‘Scion’, which when forged together held the power to control the great pyramid of Atlantis.  However, Natla abused her power and used the Scion for her own desires, to breed mutant beings within the pyramid. Co-rulers; Qualopec and Tihocan considered this act a violation against the Atlantean code, In their disgust, they struck Natla’s piece from her possession and had the violator sealed in an eternal prison. The great island of Atlantis was then plunged into devastation by showers of flame from the sky, consequently, Atlantis was plagued by death and ruin.

As can be seen in the opening cutscene of Tomb Raider, in Los Alamos, New Mexico, a nuclear explosion resurfaces an ancient device in which the banished Atlantean ruler; Natla is encased in. Our heroine, Lara Croft enters this story when she is assigned by Jacqueline Natla to retrieve a piece of the Scion from the Tomb of Qualopec in Peru. Oblivious to Natla’s true intentions, Lara embarks on a journey to the lost city of Vilcabamba to retrieve the first piece. Following Lara’s retrieval of the first third of the almighty pendant, Lara becomes aware that the piece is part of something far greater and potentially dangerous. In a test against time, Lara must use her knowledge, wit and acrobatic ability to recover the remaining pieces of the Scion from Greece and Egypt and finally confront Natla at the lost continent of Atlantis before all Hell is bred on Earth .
